Not All Tile Installation Quotes Are The Same!

Two tile installation quotes can both say “Install 800 sq. ft. of tile” and still include very different work.

Does the price include demolition? Floor leveling if needed? Baseboards and transitions? Furniture moving?

Who supplies the setting materials? What happens if cracks or other conditions are discovered after the existing floor comes up?

The number at the bottom doesn't tell you any of that.

That's why I tell homeowners: get your quotes. Just compare what's actually included, not only the price.

Nobody wants to spend thousands of dollars on their house and then wonder where the hell their contractor went. 

Before we start, we'll tell you what to expect. While we're working, we keep you updated.

And if something comes up that could affect the schedule, scope or price, then we talk to you about it.

It's your house. You should probably know what's going on in it.

You've picked a beautiful tile. Great.

Now let's make sure we don't install it in a way that looks like crap.

Where does the pattern start? Where will the cuts be? How will it meet the walls and adjoining floors? What grout color are we using? And are there any layout decisions we should discuss before hundreds of tiles are permanently installed?

That's why we talk through the important visual details before we start setting tile.

Because:

“I wish we'd done that differently.”

Yeah...

Much better conversation before the tile goes down.

Your tile can look fantastic the day we're finished.

But what happens six months or two years later if something doesn't?

Tile starts coming loose. Something sounds hollow. Grout starts doing something weird.

Who are you calling?

And more importantly, is the company that installed it still answering the damn phone?

You're shopping for the tile you can see.

I'm interested in the stuff you're about to cover up.

Before thousands of dollars of tile goes down, we check the surface underneath it. Is it flat enough? Are there cracks? Is there anything that needs to be addressed first?
