FAQ'S

Q: How do I know you won't rip me off like other contractors?

A: I'm not them. It's like me asking you, "How do I know you won't be a psychotic customer?" It works both ways. Let's connect and see if we're a fit. If not, no hard feelings. However, there are a few things I've done to ensure we give prospective clients peace of mind:

1) Pay As You Go - No large upfront extortion payments. A small deposit is required, followed by payment as each portion of the work is completed. If we don't finish the work, we don't get paid, and we don't do any further work until we're paid for what we finished. Fair and transparent to all. So you carry zero risk of losing money. Still don't like it? Bye! 👋

2) Legally Binding Agreement - Scammers don't pay ritzy construction attorneys to draft up their contracts. Well, I've done that to ensure everyone's rights are protected. We're meticulous about ensuring that what we agreed to verbally is in writing.

3) Social Proof - Find me another flooring contractor with as much online presence that posts 2-3 times weekly, to either showcase previous projects or to educate folks about their industry, who also happens to be a con artist.

This bulletproofs you from being ripped off.

Q: What if your work sucks as much as everyone else's?

A: It won't. Next question.

Q: What makes your installation better than the guy who quoted me half your price?

A: That's cute. Anyone who is that much less is cutting corners you can't see, I promise you. Poor/zero subfloor prep. Wrong materials. Installation shortcuts. Cheap/unskilled labor. You'll pay twice when you have to fix his mess. I blog about such disaster stories regularly.

Q: Can I scratch my wood floor?

A: Yeah, you can, but I don't recommend it because it won't look good. All hardwood will scratch eventually. Use common sense and regularly remove surface dust, preferably with a Swiffer. As long as you don't play fetch with your 250lb Werewolf/Doberman mix, the floor will last decades.

Q: How much do you charge for...

A: STOP.

You're price shopping. If your only goal is to find the lowest price, I can't help you. Someone else will low-ball to get your business. You can try them out if you like to see how that works for you.

Look, I completely understand getting several quotes. In fact, I encourage it, but not to compare prices. That's one of the worst things you can do in this market, and I have an entire file of clients with ghastly pictures who went that route and deeply regretted it later. I wrote a few case studies about it. What's worse is that this file swells monthly.

A smarter approach is to compare expertise, competency, trust, and price to determine overall value. If you don't trust the person, nothing else matters. Anyone quoting you significantly less than others is taking shortcuts or has no idea what they're doing - no question about it.

Q: What kind of projects do you do?

A: Hardwood flooring (both solid & engineered), vinyl, carpet, laminate, tile (standard & large format), patios, fireplaces, staircases & showers. Residential and commercial.

Q: I'm overwhelmed and need help.

A: Happy to. Contact us.
